Why this Blog? I have two friends who are freshly inspired to read the Bible (March 2007). I want to add to their fire and cause many around us to be affected in reading their own Bible also!!!

Well, I have an experience that failed. I was googling oneday, and came into a web site that promotes a bible read through in 90 days. It is NIV published by Zondervan. Although it was challenging idea, I was intrigued by the aggressive bible reading schedule. To my shame, I never read through the bible once from Genesis to Revelations. I had been a Christian about 15 years by that time. I decided to embark my bible reading that I never tried before. I used my own bible (not NIV) but tried to stick to 90 day bible reading schedule. With ups and downs of reading, I was able keep up until I came to Isaiah. On 2/16/06, it was when my youngest son was born. That day I did not read that day's portion. I decieded to take my bible into the labor and delivary room when my wife called me to take her to hospital. Maybe, I read about one page and my wife went into a labor.
From that time I was getting behind and behind and eventully, I stopped reading altogether. It was after almost one year I picked up where I left in Isaiah and was able to finish reading it through on 2/8/07. Right now I am on the second around. Some say that in order to establish any kind of habit, you need at least 30 days. I believe reading the bible is a habit. Once you establish that habit, it becomes a little bit easier. The key is never give up even if you stop reading for a while, just get back where you left off. Just for your encourgement, Engiish is my second language, I read about rate of 120 words per minute which is way slower that aveage speed. So far, I was able to keep up with the schedule. I am now on Jeremiah. Let's all read the bible over and over until our dear Lord comes back. Nick
I usually have an ambitious Bible reading schedule. However I found out that regularity wins out overly aggressive schedule. Even though I planned to read NT once a month, I ended up reading once every four months. It is better than not reading but I wonder if I would have done better with a less aggressive schedule. However, this old dog does not learn its lesson. I am back trying to read 1 time per month. Oh Lord, please help me to be faithful!
